ReadthisfirstbeforereplacingtheLCDpanelforThinkPadW540modelswithacolorsensor

IfyourLCDpanelneedsareplacement,orderaspecialLCDpanelFRUkitforcolorsensormodelfromLenovo.
TheFRUkitcontainsaLCDpanel,aCDandaninstructionflyer.ForthecorrectFRUkitpartnumber,checkon
theWebsiteathttp://www.lenovo.com/serviceparts-lookup.
ToreplacetheLCDpanel,besuretofollowthesesteps:
1.BeforeyoureplacetheLCDpanel,locatethelabelontheplasticjacketofthenewLCDpanel.Locate
thenumerickeynumberonthelabelandrecordit.
2.ReplacethefailingLCDpanelwiththenewonethatwasshippedtoyou.
3.StartthecomputerandentertheWindowsoperatingenvironment.
4.InserttheCDthatcamewiththenewLCDpanel.Iftheautorunfunctionisenabled,thePanel
ReplacementUtilityprogramstartsautomatically.Iftheprogramdoesnotstartautomatically,runthe
programmanuallybyexploringtheCDanddouble-clickingPanelReplacementUtility.exe.
5.Followtheinstructionsonthescreentoperformtheinitialcolorcalibration.Whenthekeynumberis
required,typethenumberthatyourecordedinstep1.ThenthePanelReplacementUtilityprogram
startstomeasurethenewLCDpanelandperformtheinitialcolorcalibration.
